Brittany
Ferries are the ferry operator for the Western Channel. The
ideal choice for holidaymakers heading for Brittany, Normandy,
the Atlantic coastline of France and further a field to Spain
and Portugal. Now with addition of "fast ferry" services
travelling times have been great reduced and this will be welcome
news for pet owners. Poole/Cherbourg is now When using the traditional ferries, it's worth bearing in mind that night crossings fall in line with your pets normal sleep pattern, so as long as you have a docile dog or a cuddly cat, these longer crossings should not prove to be any problem at all. For travellers to Spain the new Pont Aven now crosses from Plymouth to Santander in record time of only 18 hours. Dogs have their own specially created kennel accommodation, and owners are allowed to visit and exercise their dogs whenever they wish. Just bear in mind that they are made of very solid stainless steel, so we recommend that you take some bedding for your dog's comfort. There are only two sailings a week in each direction and obviously a limited number of kennels, so early booking is recommended.
